Therapeutic Services

I believe that people have the ability to create change, to adjust to adverse experiences, and to overcome hardships. I also believe in the resiliency and power in people to heal, learn from mistakes, build skills, create healthy  relationships, develop a sense of security, and be happy.

When we work together, you can expect a safe and supportive therapeutic process and space. My style is open, strength-based, and collaborative.  I am direct and I use humor. My therapeutic perspective is rooted in child and adult development, attachment, and identity formation. I have an awareness of individual and family culture and systems and extensive knowledge of the impact of trauma on overall health.  My approach is integrative and utilizes techniques from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy,  Motivational Interviewing, trauma-informed somatic approach, attachment models, mindfulness, expressive therapies.  I recognize multicultural and holistic wellness perspectives based on my training as a psychotherapist and personal experiences as a first generation-born person of color.

I understand the impact of systemic racism, sexism and homophobia, social injustices, trauma, and toxic stress on people and the community. I work with diverse individuals within the LGBTQ and POC communities.

I obtained my masters degree in Counseling from California State University, San Bernardino and became a therapist in 2003 . I also served as a clinical supervisor and program manager in community mental health settings. I received a graduate certificate in Couples and Marriage Counseling from Portland State University in 2008. I am certified in Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) and licensed in Oregon as a Professional Counselor (LPC). I work with infants, toddlers, adolescents, couples, and families.
